Steve arrived on Sunday the 14th August 2011. We were at the airport to pick him up and headed out to camp immediately. We arrived at camp around 4.30pm giving us enough time to sight rifles. After hitting the target a few times we settled in with a sundowner followed by a scrumptous 3 course dinner.

Day 1 - Myself and Steve decided to head for an area where I had previously spotted some huge eland bulls. The drive took us around a hour and we were hunting. We parked the vehicle on a ridge and starting walking slowly - looking down into the valley. Half an hour into our walk and we spotted a bachelor herd of 8 mature bulls. Then the tracking started ! Several hours later and we had a great trophy. A magnificent eland, well done Steve.

A good first day out - with the eland being Steve's priority, we were all very happy.

Day 2 - A freezing cold start to the morning & with Steve dressed for the North pole, we went looking for a blue wildebees. After spotting several herds which were a little spooky. We finally found 4 lone bulls in the perfect place for a good stalk. Crawling on our hands and knees and finally setting up - Steve made a superb shot through this big animals shoulders. He went straight down. All helping, and together with the winch we were finally able to load him on the truck.

Day 3 - We left camp early in search of zebra. Spotting a small group of five, we set about our stalk. Unfortunately this group gave us the slip very quickly. We then climbed to a great spot overlooking the valley and spotted another herd of seventeen and decided to try our luck there. We were able to get within 180m of the herd and Steve made another great shot and the huge stallion went down without moving.

The afternoon we spent looking for waterbuck. Just before sunset we spotted a big bull, but there were just too many impala around and they were given the warning signal. Tomorrow we will try again.

Day 4 - Another early start looking for waterbuck. We headed down to an area close to the coast known for exceptional trophy quality. We were out glassing around sunrise and soon found ourselves stalking in very wet knee high grass. The first group we tried were spooked off by impala. Second group spooked off by impala again & our third attempt on a lone bull was succesful. We managed to get another awesome trophy. Steve downed this animal with a well placed shot at around 180yards.

After lunch - final afternoon, we were after a duiker. The afternoon was windy making it quite difficult. We spotted a number of duiker but it seemed to be ladies afternoon out. Just before sunset we found a nice representative male. A fantastic way to end the hunt off.
